The Generation Z – Sovereigns design honors Black Americans born between 1997 and 2012 — a generation that came of age in the digital era, inheriting both the victories and unfinished struggles of those who came before.
Marked by the year 1619, this piece places Generation Z within the same unbroken Black historical continuum — from survival, to resistance, to transformation. The language, symbols, and distressing reflect a generation raised in a networked world where the signal can no longer be contained and where truth, culture, and resistance move in real time.
Generation Z did not ignite the fire. They received the signal and amplified it — turning history, identity, and collective memory into power carried forward across platforms, communities, and movements.
